11.FAQ

11. How much traffic does Qycx Videoconferencing need?

On the Conference Dialog, there is a floating menu. Click More... button, enabling users to observe the real-time traffic data. The video traffic of a channel of 320X240 (5fps) is at approximately 100kbps and that of 640X480 (5fps) at approximately 400kbps. Addition of one channel will double the video traffic. No matter how long a conference is, the traffic remains in the same range. Therefore, as long as the bandwidth exceeds the displayed traffic, it is next to impossible for the network to be jammed. The bandwidth of the adopted optical fibers usually exceeds 1M, so why will the bandwidth be inadequate?

The traffic on the servers is the total traffic of all clients and there is also a clear display of traffic status.

12. how to eliminate echo in a video call?

Win 7 and Vista do a better job that XP. So if you are a Windows 7/Vista user, Qycx Video Conferencing is free from echoes.

Do not place two computers too closely; otherwise no one can cancel the echoes.

13. What are the hardware requirements for a client/server configuartions?

Firstly,it is better to employ professional PC servers of Dual Xeon. Nevertheless, this is the configuration requirement for easy extension to a larger conference system, so users can adjust their servers during the trial according to their various situations.

Secondly, a dual-core computer will serve the conferencing client purpose.

14. How to choose a suitable camera for video conferencing?

It is relatively simple to test with USB webcams, but video cameras can also be utilized for testing and they need to be connected to computers with capture cards.

15. Video quality not clear?

Definition of videos is, to a large extent, associated with the selected webcams, video cameras or capture cards. Videoconferencing software is responsible for remote transmission and synchronization of video streams and for transportation of local videos to all venues as completely as possible. Therefore, do not blame unclearness of the local videos on the conferencing software.

16. How to Connect Sound Systems?

If you possess powerful sound systems and microphones, you can directly connect the computers’ audio input and output so as to connect the original audio matrixes with the conferencing system, during which some knowledge of the mixer is sometimes needed. Normally, if they have already had audio matrixes, experience of using the mixer will not be lacked.

17. How to Connect Big Screens?

Display devices are easy to connect. If you have large video walls, then you can connect the walls to the system; if you have large screens, they may connect the screens. It also works to connect the system to a projector or TV certainly, it is the most convenient manner to employ the computers’ monitors.

18. How to Make Online Meetings Stable?

Although such a question is often heard, it still sounds excessively strange, for how does the problem of stability arise for dozens of venues? Such a problem should not have and is impossible to come up for a normal conferencing system in the case of normal loads. You may test it on the trial version of the 30-party Qycx Video Conferencing Software.

19. How to Make Dozens of Videos Simultaneously Displayed on A Video Wall? How to Divide So Many Channels of Videos?

The Qycx Video Conferencing Software has a wonderful feature--a virtual video wall--so that it can provide PCI editing of a host of videos. The Software can divide the videos on its own without additional special equipment. Video output interfaces can be connected directly to a video wall just like a large computer screen. Unfortunately, the function of the virtual video wall is not included in the 30-party trial version.

20. how to build your video conference system?

Videoconferencing system projects can be essential, since the choice of peripherals varies a great deal. For instance, a high-quality camera costs several thousand yuan, whereas a cheap PC camera is worth only 50 yuan. Consequently, it is extremely common that investments in projects can range from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands or even millions.

Although many user units want to tackle the problem once and for all, it is often the case that one-time project investment will lead them to miss a lot of key technical points that they do not understand, resulting in significant risks of failure, because video conferencing systems are, to a certain extent, professional and different from general network systems.

Therefore, it is strongly recommended that the basic conferencing system should be built first (the basic conferencing system includes PC cameras, PC microphones, network bandwidth, a server and client computers and conferencing software). Technically, the basic system already resolves common problems covering traffic, echoes, stability and usability of conferencing systems, so once the basic system is completed, the conferencing system will have been running normally. High-end cameras and other peripherals can be gradually equipped with in the second phase of construction.

Building the system in two phases will not only considerably reduce project risks, but will be conducive to the accumulation of project experience on the part of the user units so that they can make adjustments in a timely manner.

There are loads of technical problems concerning video conferencing systems to which attention should be paid, and more details can be found in the relevant technical articles about Qycx Video Conferencing System.

Qycx Video Conferencing System is aimed at convening strong and powerful virtual meetings, each of which can be easily attended by participants in more than 100 different conference venues. So the 30-party trial version is a small step.

However, given the fact that “if over ten parties participate in a videoconference on Skype, it will automatically be converted into a audio conference”, the 30-party trial version is of a relatively more parties.

Will Qycx offer trial versions that can support more parties? Let us be on the tiptoe of expectation.
